Connect MetaTrader 5

Install the free TiltCall add-on (an Expert Advisor) on one chart. It reports your trades to TiltCall. It can't place trades.

Before you start

  • MetaTrader 5 on a Windows PC, Mac or VPS (the phone app can't run add-ons)
  • Your Connection ID and secret from the TiltCall Connect page

  1. Step 1: Get your connection code and the add-on

    In TiltCall, open Connect, pick MetaTrader 5 and tap Get my connection code. You'll see a Connection ID and a secret (the secret shows once, so keep the page open). Download TiltCallReporter.mq5 from the same screen.

  2. Step 2: Put the file in the Experts folder

    In MT5, open File, then Open Data Folder. Open MQL5, then Experts, and drop the file in. Close and reopen MT5.

  3. Step 3: Allow TiltCall to send data

    Open Tools, then Options, then the Expert Advisors tab. Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add the TiltCall address shown on your Connect page.

    Tip: TiltCall doesn't need algorithmic trading turned on to watch your trades. Only Elite trade blocking needs it.

  4. Step 4: Attach TiltCall to one chart

    In the Navigator, open Expert Advisors and drag TiltCallReporter onto any one chart. In the Inputs tab, paste the TiltCall address, your Connection ID and your connection secret from the Connect page, then press OK.

How to know it worked

Open TiltCall and look at Connect. MetaTrader 5 shows Connected within a minute. Your next trade shows up on Today.

Go to Connect

If something's off

It says WebRequest is not allowed

Check the Experts tab at the bottom of MT5. If it says to add the endpoint's domain, go back to Tools, Options, Expert Advisors and add the address from your Connect page exactly, starting with https://.

Nothing shows up after a trade

MT5 has to be open for the add-on to run. If you close your computer, trades placed from your phone show up when MT5 opens again. A cheap VPS keeps it running all day.

I use several accounts

Attach TiltCall to one chart in each MT5 terminal. Each account gets its own Connection ID and secret.
